Michael Caputo comes to us with over 30 years of playing and coaching experience. He has played for several professional teams over his career, including the Illinois Thunder (NISL), Miami Freedom (APSL), Alfreton Town FC & Mansfield Town FC (England 2nd Div), Birmingham Grasshoppers and Lexington Bluegrass Bandits (USISL), before suffering a career ending injury in the Chicago Fire (MLS) training camp. Michael then went on to an impressive coaching career with NYIT as their head coach, as well as several prominent youth clubs including Oceanside United SC (NY), Valley Stream SC, Staten Island Vipers (A-League), Brentwood SC, Guangzhou FC (China), as well as coaching and Club Director positions with renowned clubs NY Surf SC, FC Fury (Girls Academy) and as the ECNL Director & lead Coach at FC Albertson Fury (NY), one of the largest and most successful elite level clubs in the country. Michael has also served as the Asst. GM of the Staten Island Vipers, as well as the Director of Corporate Sales for the NY/NJ Metro Stars. Michael currently serves on the FAU Women’s Coaching Staff and ODP Regional & National staff, where he most recently coached the 2005’s at National Team Camp / Dallas Cup in Texas.
